08.11.10 - Indigo launches daily direct flights from Chennai to Jaipur via Ahmedabad

Effective November 07, 2010, Indigo has started daily flights to Jaipur via Ahmedbad. Which means that while there is a stop in Ahmedabad, you don't need to step off the flight. Flights depart Chennai at 1425hrs and arrive Jaipur at 1815 all days except Sunday, when it leaves 50minutes later.

05.11.10 - Hyderabad Airport increases user-development fee

Effective November 08, 2010, the user-development fee at Hyderabad Airport would be charged at INR 475 per passenger. Passengers who have paid Rs. 375 per person for tickets where travel is Nov 8th onwards will have to pay the difference of Rs 100 per pax directly at the airport before departure.

15.12.09 - Indigo announces additional daily flights from Chennai to Mumbai and Delhi

Indigo Airlines has launched its 2nd daily flight from Chennai to Mumbai and its 4th daily flight from Chennai to New Delhi with effect from 20th Jan, 2010.

The new non-stop service to Mumbai will depart Chennai at 0545hrs and arrive Mumbai at 0725hrs. On the return leg, there will be a flight departing Mumbai at 1950hrs and arriving Chennai at 2130hrs.

The new service to Delhi will depart Chennai at 0545hrs and arrive Delhi at 1015hrs. On the return leg, there will be a flight departing Delhi at 1700hrs and arriving Chennai at 2130hrs. This flight will have one stopover enroute.

Air Seychelles has cancelled its schedule to Chennai from Seychelles. The reason given by the airline was related to not receiving permission for landing rights in Chennai. Press release from the airline.

Air Seychelles connects Chennai to the exotic Indian Ocean islands of Seychelles. Now you can get away to one of the most romantic escapes in the world. Flights depart Chennai every Wednesday at 2130hrs and arrive every Tuesday at 0145hrs. Flying time is 4hrs 25min. Round-trip fares start from INR 27,900 inclusive of all taxes.

07.04.10 - Silk Air announces daily direct flights from Chennai to Singapore

Silk Air, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has announced the commencement of its maiden flight direct from Chennai to Singapore. This flight will operate daily starting from June 14th 2010 and will be a daytime flight commencing from Singapore and turnaround in Chennai. Round-trip fares start from INR 13,000 inclusive of all taxes.

15.02.10 - Air China announces first direct flight from South India to China

Air China announces the commencement of its maiden flight direct from Bangalore to Chengdu and onwards to Shanghai. This flight will connect India's and China's IT capitals every Thursday and Sunday.
