Day 2 - 5: On Havelock Island. The PADI open water course training

Spend the morning chilling-out at the resort. Explore the island’s villages and have lunch at a chic brasserie. In the afternoon, take the ferry back to Port Blair.

Day 6: Transfer to Port Blair

Places: Havelock Island; Port Blair  | Activities: Learn Scuba Diving

If the idea of exploring magnificent coral reef, swimming over the ruins of a sunken ship, and coming face to face with amazing creatures of the sea fascinates you, then a scuba diving course in the Andaman Islands is your key to intense adventure. It’s a mesmerizing world underwater and if you are not a diver, the PADI Open Water certification course is designed with you in mind. Learn the basics, become a certified diver and meet Nemo and his friends. Small groups enhance your learning experience and our friendly multilingual Instructors ensure you have a blast. As the only PADI 5 star dive facility in the Andaman Islands, the dive centre we work with, has a proven safety record that speaks for itself.

The Open Water Diver certification is valid worldwide and does not require renewal. Learning to dive opens a door to a whole new world. Begin the journey of a lifetime.

Fly into Port Blair from Chennai or Kolkata. Transfer to a hotel for breakfast, and then to the pier for your morning ferry to Havelock. Or else, explore Port Blair and its surroundings, maybe making a quick dash to Ross Island, the old British capital of the islands, followed by lunch and then the afternoon ferry to Havelock Island. On arrival, transfer to Barefoot Scuba at Beach No. 3. Spend the day meeting your PADI Dive Instructor, kitting-up for size, and getting an orientation.

This course will teach you the fundamentals of diving through a perfect mixture of theory (5 modules), 2 days of confined water skills training, equipment orientation and troubleshooting techniques, and 4 open water dives with water skills exercises. The course, suitable for anybody with a basic level of comfort in the water, thus follows a gradual progression of skill development.

Once you have completed the course, you can opt to do a couple of fun dives.
