Angsana is a tiny circular island with dense and lush vegetation at its centre making it one of the most photographed island in the Maldives. Positioned on a beautiful palm-dotted island, encircled by white sand shores and crystal clear lagoons, Angsana Ihuru not only offers a romantic retreat but is also a prime destination for marine life discovery. Experienced divers and novices alike can’t help but be fully engaged by the intriguing house-reef, residing only steps from the villas, tempting you in with a theatre of vibrant colours.
Angsana Ihuru is located on the Ihuru Island on the North Male Atoll, 17 kms from Male airport. It takes 20 mins by speedboat to arrive at this gorgeous island.
There are two types of rooms - Beachfront Villas and Beachfront Jet Pool Villas. The beachfront villas, dotting the circumference of the coral island, offer breathtaking views of the ocean. All villas are furnished with Maldivian thatched roofs and private gardens.
Angsana is one of the first eco-friendly resorts in the Maldives; endorsing a policy aimed at minimising the effects of tourism which includes using biodegradable detergents, solar water heating and effective disposal schemes.
Snorkelling and diving are excellent - turtles, sharks and schools of fish can be seen just metres off the beach on the pristine house reef, which is easily accessible from the shore day or night.
Angsana is well placed within the atoll to offer a good range of half or full day excursions including dolphin cruises, night fishing, local island visits, cooking school, trips to the capital island of Male and stingray & turtle feeding at its sister island Banyan Tree.
There is a restaurant, a coffee shop and a bar on the island. The Restaurant is set by the water’s edge and serves an excellent standard of Asian, Mediterranean and Maldivian cuisine complementing the glorious views out into the horizon.
