Soak up the old-world city in the peaceful Botanical Gardens. Singapore is a green city, and nature lovers are spoilt for choice with two nature reserves in the city boundaries, Singapore zoo and the 'Night Safari' for some wildlife watching after-hours.
Start you exploration of Singapore by driving round the Civic District and enjoy the impressive views of Marina Bay. Visit one of Singapore’s oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples at Chinatown. Observe craftsmen at work at a local handicraft centre. See the National Orchid Garden, which boasts a staggering 60,000 orchid plants. A stop at Little India will entice you with the scent of joss sticks, jasmine & spices. Evening is at leisure.
In the morning you proceed to explore one of the world’s best and beautiful zoos – Singapore Zoo, spread over 28 hectares and home to over 3,600 mammals, birds and reptiles including some rare and endangered species.
Late evening, explore the world’s first Night Safari set in 40 hectares of secondary jungle. See a myriad of nocturnal animals, from fierce predators to timid forest dwellers, in their natural habitat under subtle moonlight. Roam the jungle in the complete safety and comfort of a tram. Pass by a large reservoir and weave through selected habitats designed specifically to replicate the natural environment from the Himalayan Foothills to the Southeast Asian Rainforest and Indian Subcontinent.
